Honeymoon spoiled after fight and arrest on plane ride home
By Pantagraph staff
BLOOMINGTON — A groom returning from his honeymoon was taken to jail Monday and booked on assault charges for hitting his new wife on the flight home.
Brian Fabian was charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery for striking his wife in the face, police said.
Police received a call from a plane that was about 15 minutes away from a landing in Bloomington, Chief Felony Prosecutor Mark Messman said in court Tuesday. A flight attendant and a passenger said they saw Fabian hit his wife, said Messman.
When confronted by police, Fabian admitted to an argument and said, “I guess you know what happened after that,” according to police reports.
Fabian was required to post $300 bond and avoid contact with his wife for 72 hours after his release from jail.
