Volleyball: Central Catholic downs Hartem

Megan Schmidt finished with 13 kills, eight service points and two blocks to lead the Central Catholic High School volleyball team to a 25-12, 25-17 win over Hartsburg-Emden on Monday in Hartsburg.

Kristyn Mysker and Stephanie Lamb each added 12 assists for the Saints (18-9). Jillyn Cross, Sarah Schneider, Lacey Shelabarger and Kelsi Ubbenga each had four kills for the Stags (17-11).

PBL falls at home

Jenna Seibring had 10 kills, three blocks and 10 digs to lead PBL as Rantoul defeated the Panthers 17-25, 25-20, 30-28 in a nonconference match at Paxton.

Jessica Bender added 17 service points, and six assists for PBL (15-5 overall) while Rachel Kleinsteiber finished with 17 service points, including four aces, and three blocks.

Calvary beats Cornerstone

Melanie Bouslog’s 11 service points, six kills and three digs helped Calvary Baptist to a 25-16, 25-16 victory over Cornerstone in Bloomington. Shelby Koehl had eight kills, while Emily Borst had 12 assists for Calvary (8-8).
