" This is about a mile east of the Covell Road, not by Nord Fields.. It's a pretty straight and rolling so, the speed limit is 55 (unmarked rural areas are all 55). Seems to me for them to have broken the wheels off (it doesn't say the tires popped off, it says the wheels were BROKEN off), they'd have to be going a good bit faster than 55. It's easy to draw some assumptions based on the "accident" damage, the age of the driver and the passenger, and my personal experiences as a 16-year-old male. " I am very familiar with this road and the area that this happened is very hilly and is in a 55mi per hour zone, so I am not sure where someone got the idea of ?35 but the kids probably were going about 55 which IS legal for that stretch of road but for a 16 year old who is new to driving and doesn't know every pot hole - they prpbably should have been going a lot slower for safety....so with a speed up at 55 it would be possible for the tire to land some 70 feet away..the kid driving probably never hit the brakes but just swerved....thank goodness they both weren't killed......hopefully the parents pull in the reighns on the car priviledges until they get some more instruction.... "

Dead animals in the road can usually be seen from a good distance, giving the driver ample time to slow down, manuver around or straddle the obect in the road. I did mention reduce speed.
