BLOOMINGTON — A 20-year-old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the back in a domestic dispute Monday sobbed and fell limp after a judge set her bond Wednesday afternoon.

Cindy M. Johnson, of the 600 block of South Linden Street, was jailed in lieu of posting $500 on charges of aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery. A prosecutor said she started kicking a 21-year-old man when trying to get him to leave her bed, and she stabbed him in the back with a knife when he grabbed her feet.

The man suffered a partially collapsed lung, but he was treated at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, and released, authorities said.

Two McLean County officers carried Johnson out of the courtroom by her arms following the hearing.

" It's more plausible than the "No means NO Theory". How can you pull someone from the bed by their feet if they are the aggressor? It requires leverage. That means the person pulling has to be standing while the person in bed in laying down. If the person was standing and the other was laying down, then the standing person could just leave the room. The story doesn't say either one happened and leaves alot unanswered, that's the problem. "

" Where does it say all that? That doesn't even sound plausible. "

" was this in self defense or no? I got lost? And I agree.. there's got to be more to the story then what's being told... a knife in a bedroom??? She must be really scared that someone is coming after her inorder for that knife to be there- "

I agree with Vague wrote on Oct 18, 2007 5:31 PM:

" but in addition, how many people keep knives in their bedroom? If this was about him getting out of bed, how did she conveniently have a knife? There's got to be more............ "

" Both "aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery" are pretty serious. Even if she gets 'counseling', if this sticks, it'll follow her for life. "

" I was nearby when this went down and you're mostly correct. I belive the victim lived in the same apartment . There wasn't any "no mean's no" issue here. Just immaturity and anger management issues I'd say. "

" Please... how do you stab someone in the back if they are facing you pulling you feet? Or how do you pull someones foot which your back to them? If you believe that, I have some property to sell you on the moon! This is another case where being woman gets you a pass to do what you want and get away with it. Justice is said to be blind, but that heifer must be peaking, cuz the same case in reverse would have a man behind bars and under the jail. She may not have been satisfied but i doubt she felt threatened! She might be related to Lorraina Bobbet! "

" I read the story and this is my take on the events. Other's read it differently I guess: Her boyfriend was sleeping in her bed and she wanted him to get up so he could take her out shopping or eatting or something and she gets mad and kicks him to get him moving. He grabs her feet to stop her from kicking him and she gets mad and grabs a kive and stabs him, all because he's a lazy man, but he didn't deserve to be stabbed. The story needs clarity. "

amanda wrote on Oct 18, 2007 2:20 PM:

" i would assume if she really felt threatened that the man would also be charged with assault or unlawful restraint or something. sounds like this broad needs a higher bail and a reality check, treat her like any man that stabbed his girlfriend for grabbing his feet. "

" I agree with devils advocate... if she was kicking him, he has a right to defend himself by grabbing her feet. "

No Does not Mean Back Stabbing wrote on Oct 18, 2007 1:16 PM:

" this is a joke. This woman is dangerous and how is it if she was in bed she just HAPPENED to have a knife at arms length? Her bond should be 10 times what is minimum. "

Prime example of McLean County Double Standards wrote on Oct 18, 2007 1:14 PM:

" if a man would have been the perp instead of the victim his bond would be at least 100 thousand and he would have been charged with attempted murder. This Kangaroo County Court is getting sickening with its sexual bias against men. Thanks Bill Yoder and whatever liberal judge set this crazy womans' bond at peanuts. This is an insult to the justice system. "

" My, my, we sure get a lot more details about domestic squabbles these days. I'm surprised the writer didn't include a more complete account of what led to Ms. Johnson kicking her boyfriend. By the way, does anyone know why the exact address is never used anymore, just the block (600 block of South Linden in this case)? This technique puts the spotlight on both sides of the street on a whole block instead of just one house. "

" No matter what their legal relationship, if she wants him out of her bed and he grabs her by the feet (I'd like to hear him explain his intent) doesn't she have the right to defend herself? No means no. "

" Wait a second. is there more to this story than what we are being told? was this woman defending herself? she wanted him out of her bed and he wouldn't leave? "

" Sounds like true love doesn't it? I think we need some LARGE counseling sessions for many of the youth in this town. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get them to treat each other with respect, work, stop having endless amounts of children, leave others stuff alone. But then isn't that the parents job also. Parents you better get busy. Some of you are not scoring high marks at all. "
