Fire officials from numerous communities were notified of a fire about 1 p.m. at 16710 E. 2700 North Road, west of Odell.

No one was in the home at the time, Pontiac fire Lt. Scott Runyon said. The names of the residents were not available Thursday.

The cause of the fire remained undetermined.

Two surveyors from Fairbury, Keith Vogel and Ryan Sedam, noticed the fire as the returned from their lunch break nearby. After seeing the fire, they immediately called 911.

“By the time I got here it was fully engulfed,” Vogel said. “I just hope no one was in there.”

Odell, Dwight, Cornell and Pontiac fire departments fought the fire. Duffy Ambulance Service, an Odell ambulance and Livingston County sheriff’s police also came to the scene.
