Doran excels at Olivet
University High School graduate Seth Doran helped the Olivet Nazarene golf team to second-place finishes recently in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Region VII Tournament.
Doran, a sophomore, had a two-day total of 144 in the NCCAA Tournament to place second individually. His team finished nine shots behind Southeastern University. Doran shot a 149 in the NAIA Region VII event to earn all-Region honors. Olivet Nazarene (618) trailed only St. Ambrose (592).

Naborowski nets award
Central Catholic High School graduate Megan Naborowski, a senior at the University of Illinois-Springfield, has been named the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter registered 43 kills and 39 digs on the week for the 13-15 Prairie Stars to go with four solo blocks and two block assists. She had 16 kills and 15 digs in a win over McKendree. She leads the team with 3.67 kills per game on .234 hitting.
CROSS COUNTRY
Braffet races to victory
Normal West High School graduate Meghan Braffet, a senior at the University of Maryland, won the Leopard Invitational cross country meet at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., Saturday. Braffet ran the 6K course in 20 minutes, 39 seconds to best the field by 13 seconds and lead her squad to victory in the 11-team meet.
