Central Catholic High School’s Tony Beoletto netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over Illinois Valley Central in the IVC Class A Sectional semifinals at Chillicothe Thursday night.

Six minutes into the game, Central’s Patrick Kniery headed a throw-in towards Beoletto, who cracked a low shot that found the back of the net in the lower right corner.

Saints’ goalkeeper Ben Kelch made 11 saves as his team was outshot, 17-9.

Central (13-3-2) will face Macomb (10-7-1) in Monday’s 7 p.m. sectional final at Chillicothe. The winner advances to the Oct. 26-27 state tournament at North Central College in Naperville.

In the other IVC Sectional semifinal, two goals by Cody Hirstein were not enough as Macomb eliminated Roanoke-Benson, 4-2.

The Rockets (13-4-3) were tied at intermission, 1-1, after Hirstein scored at the 10:18 mark. His penalty kick in the 43:04 mark gave the Rockets a 2-1 lead.

Roanoke-Benson outshot Macomb, 7-5.
