Miller leads Redbirds at Ross Resorts invite

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — Sophmore Stacy Miller led the way for the Illinois State women’s golf team on the first day of the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.
Miller carded a first-day total of 155 (78-77) over the 6,114 yard par-72 layout and is tied for ninth place after two rounds. Illinois State is tied for 11th place in team competition after a total of 646 (329-317).
Tournament host Rollins College leads the 15-team event with a 613. Emilie Geury of Augusta State leads the indi-vidual event after firing a 3-over-par 147 (74- 73) for the first two rounds.
