Margaret Workman
WELDON - Margaret Workman, 85, of Weldon, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday (Nov. 9, 2007). Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Farmer City, the Rev. Fr. George Remm officiating. Burial will be in Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at Trigg & Calvert Weldon Chapel, Weldon, with a prayer service at 5:30 PM Sunday. Memorials may be made to Weldon Lions Club. She was born Dec. 29, 1921, in County Down, Northern Ireland, the daughter of John Barry and Ellen Berry. She married Vernelle R. Workman in 1944 at Warren Point, Northern Ireland. He passed away in 1964. Survivors include one son, John (Mary Jane) Workman, Clinton; one daughter, Kathleen Workman, Springfield; four grandchildren, Michael (Laurie) Workman, White Heath; Stephanie (John) Metter, Monroe, Mich.; Angela (Sean) Reeder, Monticello; and Laura Workman, Mahomet; six great-grandchildren, Mathew and Morgan Workman and Ema, Chloe, Ryan and Kate Reeder; and one sister, Tessie Fisher, Conventry, England. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Farmer City. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary in Weldon, and member of I.B.E.W. She formerly worked at General Cable in Monticello and Revere Copper and Brass in Clinton. |
