In courtPontiac man accused of abuse PONTIAC -- A Pontiac man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 years old that possibly started eight years ago, police said. Eric Hamand, 32, was arrested last week in a case dating to fall 1999, court reports said. Pontiac police said the Department of Children and Family Services and investigators are still reviewing the case. Hamand is due back in court Thursday in the Livingston County Courthouse. He remains jailed in lieu of posting $10,000. Burglary -- A 36-year-old man is accused of breaking a window, entering a building and stealing change before trying to flee from police in Bloomington. Two officers suffered minor injuries to a wrist and a knee in the incident, police said. Scott A. Atkins was jailed Friday in lieu of $1,000 on charges of burglary and resisting a police officer. A court document says officers saw Atkins inside National Welding Supply Co., 307 S. McClun St., before he dove out a window head-first, broke free from an officer’s grip and ran. When arrested, Atkins had a large amount of change in his pocket and admitted some was from the building, the document said. Burglary -- A 22-year-old is accused of burglarizing and damaging a Bloomington school after police responded to an alarm Friday night, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s office said in a statement. Franklin Dominguez-Martinez was charged with burglary of a school, a Class 1 felony, and criminal damage to government property, a Class 4 felony, the statement said. Police observed a broken window and Dominguez-Martinez inside Stevenson Elementary School, 2106 Arrowhead Drive, when they arrived at about 9 p.m, the statement said. He ran from the building but was apprehended in possession of audio cables, leather gloves and a box wrench, the statement said. He was held in lieu of $500. Cocaine -- Three Chicago men and two Bloomington women were arrested Wednesday in Bloomington on cocaine-related charges. Christiaan D. Davis, 18, Dwayne L. Franklin, 18, and Ramon T. Sumerlin, 25, were jailed in lieu of posting $200,000 each on two counts each of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver the drug within 1,000 feet of a public housing complex. They are accused of possessing and intending to sell cocaine near Sunnyside public housing complex. Amber L. Shepherd, 17, of the 800 block of West Illinois Street, was held in lieu of $5,000 on two charges of criminal drug conspiracy. She is accused of agreeing with Davis to sell cocaine to a police source. Ebony S. Brown, 27, of the 1800 block of West Illinois Street, was jailed in lieu of posting $5,000 on charges of permitting the unlawful use of a building and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She is accused of letting Davis sell cocaine from her home and of possessing cocaine. |
