Katelyn Krominga and Katie Legner led a balanced scoring attack with seven points each and Pontiac High School’s girls basketball team held St. Anne to 10 points through the first three quarters to earn a 39-18 nonconference win Tuesday night at Pontiac. | Box scores, schedules, stats

The Indians (2-4) led 24-6 at halftime and 32-10 after three periods.

Metamora 68, Bloomington 47:
Sophomore Shaneice Bell scored a career-high 26 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven blocks, but it wasn’t enough as Bloomington (2-3) fell at Metamora (4-2).

“Shaneice just had a great game for us,” said BHS coach Sondra Sisson, whose ace sank 9 of 19 field goal attempts and 8 of 9 free throws.

Amanda Hainlen had 10 rebounds and Brooke Holtz five assists for BHS, which outrebounded its host, 32-29.

Ashley Rainville scored 14 points and Jordan Reynolds 13 for Metamora, which sank 9 of its first 13 shots en route to a 23-10 first-quarter lead.

Washington 62, NCHS 52: Kristi Schmidt tallied 10 points for Normal Community (0-5) in a nonconference loss at Washington.

The Panthers, who outscored the Ironmen 23-13 in the fourth quarter, received 19 points from Sara Hamilton and 18 from Sara Ohlman.

The Ironmen hurt their cause with 32 turnovers.

Pekin 65, Normal West 49: Despite leading 26-25 at halftime, the Wildcats (1-4) failed to hold on as they were outscored 40-23 in the second half in the nonconference road loss at Pekin. Katherine Riggins, Erin McGinnis and Cymone Allen each scored eight points for West, which committed 26 turnovers.

Flanagan-Woodland 48, Roanoke-Benson 39: Anna Jones scored in 28 points to lift Flanagan-Woodland (2-4) to victory over visiting Roanoke-Benson. Caitlin Jones added 11 points.

Kelsey Saunders paced Roanoke-Benson (4-4) with 18 points.

PBL 63, Tri-Valley 60: A balanced scoring attack and 7-of-11 free-throw shooting in the fourth quarter propelled the Wolves to the nonconference victory in Paxton. Jenna Seibring led PBL with 12 points, while Jamie Garrell scored 11 and Eden Tolley had 10. Taylor Dirks’ game-high 15 points paced the Vikings, who trailed 46-44 after three quarters.

CPCI 53, Kankakee Trinity 41: Sophomore Lauren Bauer snared 18 rebounds and scored 11 points to lead the Timberwolves to the nonconference victory at Cissna Park. Taylor Redecker scored a team-high 14 points, while Haley Dodd added 11 for CPCI, which led 28-15 at halftime.

Springfield Southeast 67, Lincoln 47: Chrissy Schonauer scored 15 points in a losing cause for Lincoln (1-4, 0-1), which opened its Central State Eight Conference season at Springfield.

Demetria Senor led the fastbreaking Lady Spartans with 20 poitns.

Clifton Central 60, Dwight 54: The Trojans were outscored 14-2 from the free-throw line as they suffered the nonconference loss in Dwight. Chloe Trewartha paced Dwight (4-3) with 12 points, while Stephanie Humbert added nine and Carly Perschnick eight.

Donovan 51, Iroquois West 49, OT: Despite game highs of 18 points and 15 rebounds from Ariel Schroeder, Iroquois West couldn’t get its first win in a nonconference overtime loss at Gilman. Ashley Morris added 10 points for the Raiders (0-7).

Mendota 57, Streator 21: Streator managed only five points in each of the first two quarters as Mendota rolled past the Bulldogs at Streator. Haleigh Rose led Streator with six points.

Auburn 56, Illini Central 50: Brea Kalhammer scored a team-high 14 points but Illini Central was outscored 19-12 in the fourth quarter in a loss to Auburn at Mason City.

Sierra Burris and Kendra Koeppen had nine points each for the Cougars.

" Many class 3A teams would beat class 4A teams. NCHS is young, but they have been in most of the games and even had the lead late[[[just haven't won yet. They will be a-right. And they are well coached=just need a littel time. They will get better as the year goes on. And, the jv got beat last night I think. "
