BLOOMINGTON -- U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington will offer a blast from the ‘90s past with pop sibling trio Hanson (“MmmBop”) signed for an April 18 show in the venue’s half-sized U.S. Cellular Coliseum Theater set-up.

Ticket action begins at 10 a.m. Friday (FEB. 29), when seats for the 7:30 p.m. Hanson show go sale at $27.50 for students and $32.50 for adults via the Coliseum box office, including its toll-free number, (866) 891-9992.

Founded 15 years ago by releasing their own self-made albums, Hanson hit the big-time in 1997 with the upbeat pop anthem, “MmmBop,” which hit No. 1 and earned the band three Grammy nominations.

Comprised of Oklahoma brothers Issac, Taylor and Zac Hanson, the band is currently touring on behalf of its 2007 album, “The Walk.

" This would have been a better fit for the Cultural Arts Centerat $50/ticket. The Indigo Girls were great there. The acoustics are better, and you might actually sell it out. There's nothing worse than an arena show with 2,000 people (tops). "

" tickets, if they're lucky. I know everyone wants "more shows/concerts", but you have a limited number of entertainment $ chasing the shows. The more shows you have, the more you spread the money around. "

" I understand the economics of a 7000 seat venue that's 15 minutes away from any highway exit with no parking - its coming to a Property Tax bill in my mailbox next month! "

" Can you possibly be any more ignorant? Acts playing the House of Blues have to be blues acts? It's one of the premier concert venue chains in the country, musical genius, for any artists. 'Only Indie people like Indie music'? It's time for you to get back on the tractor, you've got work to do. "

" In response to Kara, taste in music is completely subjective. For some people, Hanson IS washed up. I like a lot of classic rock. For some people, those bands are washed up. No need for you to get so hot under the collar about other people's comments. It's silly for anyone to get wound up because not everyone agrees with your taste in music. It's MUSIC. We aren't talking about a matter of life or death here. "

" Indie Is That the new main stream? Only Indie people like indie music so whatcha got now girl? Oh and how many people fit in the house of blues? and when did Hanson become Blues music anyway? "

MK wrote on Feb 27, 2008 9:32 PM:

" Kara- I completely agree! I'm a huge fan and these people clearly know nothing about them. I'm just happy they are coming here! "

Kara wrote on Feb 27, 2008 7:20 AM:

" I guarantee you it will sell out. They always have to do 2 shows at the House of Blues in Chicago because they sell out so quickly. If any of you had taken the time to pay attention to the music scene, you would know that Hanson is not washed-up, and is actually on top of the Indie charts. You have made yourself all look like morons, so next time, before you open your mouth, maybe you should know the facts first. "

" Easy 2,000 draw in the theater setting, good filler between Extreme (5000 people per game) and Thunder (3,5000) home games. Urban and Underwood probably cost at least $500k, do you still not understand the economics of a 7,000 seat venue? "
