Train hits truck near Lexington

LEXINGTON – A pickup truck that was apparently left stuck on railroad tracks was hit by a northbound Amtrak train near Lexington about 9:40 p.m. Monday, McLean County sheriff’s police said. No one was inside the truck at the time.

The incident was about a mile south of Lexington and delayed train traffic as police and railroad officials investigated.

Police had not located the driver as of late Monday night.

" It's a good thing nobody was injured, the Lexington Fire Department and Ambulance never even got called!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody even knew about until B104 had it on the news this morning. We get called for overheated cars, but not when a train hits a truck. "
