Pruitt earns conference honors

CHAMNPAIGN -- Shaun Pruitt received a pair of conference honors on Monday as the senior center was named to the third team by the media and was on the coaches’ honorable mention list.

Pruitt has started 29 of 30 games this season, leading the Illini in scoring (12.5 points per game) and rebounding (7.1 rebounds per game).

He is fourth in the Big Ten in rebounding and also fourth in the league in field goal shooting at 57 percent (142-249). He leads the conference in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.1 per game.

Additionally, senior Brian Randle was Illinois’ honoree for the Big Ten sportsmanship award.
