17-year-old sentenced for damaging car

BLOOMINGTON — A man accused of damaging a woman’s car was placed on 24 months of conditional discharge and ordered to pay $3,000 restitution for the damages.
Nicholas Rada, 17, was accused of leading at least two others July 25 in climbing on a woman’s car and attempting to set fire to it at Parkway Plaza in Normal.
Rada pleaded guilty Thursday to criminal damage to property in excess of $300. In addition to the restitution, he also must pay a $300 fine and court costs. Two minors are co-defendants in the case, according to a prosecutor.
