Lucy J. Maneen
BLOOMINGTON -- Lucy J. Maneen, 83, of 2107 Cinnamon Lane, Bloomington, passed away Friday evening (April 18, 2008) peacefully in her home with her son, Joe, and daughter-in-law, Linda, at her side. A memorial Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating. A second memorial Mass will take place at a later date in Frankfort, N.Y., followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, N.Y., along side her husband, Sam and son, Peter. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Holy Trinity. Lucy was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Herkimer, N.Y., the daughter of Michael and Mary Chaszczewski Sochacki, and was educated in Herkimer schools. She married the love of her life, Sam T. Maneen, on May 8, 1948, in St. Joseph's Church in Herkimer. He died Feb. 5, 1999. She was also prededed in death by her son, Peter J. Maneen; her sister, Wanda Haytko; and two brothers, Walter Sochacki and John Sochacki. Lucy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Maggie) Maneen, Voorhees, N.J.; and Joe (Linda) Maneen, Bloomington; two cherished grandchildren, Matthew Maneen and Rebecca Maneen; her sister Stella Stefanishyn; and several nieces and nephews. Lucy started her working career at Derby Sportswear in Herkimer, followed by many years of employment with Unisys. She later took pride in her daily work efforts at Carney's Corners. Lucy was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles for many years while she lived in Frankfort, N.Y. and more recently a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a loving woman who was devoted to her family. She will be dearly missed. Lucy's family would like to sincerely thank BroMenn Hospice and Alongevity Home Care Agency for their care, kindness and compassion shown to her during her illness, and all her family and friends for their prayers and gracious support. |
