Sox fan allegedly pushes Cubs fan into window in uptown Normal
Advertisement

NORMAL -- A White Sox fan became angry with a Chicago man who was a Cubs fan and pushed him into the window of Domino’s Pizza in uptown Normal, breaking the window, a Normal police report said.

The victim, who was wearing a Cubs shirt, told police they were discussing baseball in a civil manner but it escalated into an argument and then got physical.

The victim was treated at BroMenn Regional Medical Center and released, a nursing supervisor said. He had lacerations to his cheek and back.

The incident was at 2:12 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the suspect, James Falakos, had been drinking. Falakos, address unavailable, posted $100 on a charge of aggravated battery, McLean County jail records said.

" VOA - Be passionate about your children...okay put them in sports and cheer them on. Sounds good to me. You say you never implied that gamers are not intelligent but then you imply just that by your last line; you are stereotyping all gamers into lazy couch potatos.

"

VOA wrote on May 21, 2008 5:25 AM:

" Whoa! Jwill1583 "what should people be passionate about then?" How about yourself, or your kids. Better yourself. My point is that these two guys are so "passionate" about "their" baseball teams that they come to blows? Come on! It's baseball. A game. It's...a...game. Get it? And, I did not say people who play video games are not intelligent. You implied that. Now, go get yourself another bag of Cheetos and a Mountain Dew and plop yourself down in front of your video game until you can think of something intelligent to say.

They can rattle off all sorts of programming issues and I find them impressive. I built my own computer network at home and some of the things I learned came from other nerdy gamers. I say to each their own as long as it doesn't break the law or include violence. "

" To Southside Pride, let's see. Cubs 1st place 9 games over 500, White Sox second place right at 500. Hmm....Who's having the better year so far? Who is ranked number 1 in a lot of offensive categories. That's right-the Cubs!! Take a look at MLB.com-Cubs are 2nd, White Sox are 26th. Get with the Cubs program. "

Sports are just a way to kill time, waste away your life watching them if you like. Same goes for video games. You'll wake up one day late in your life and wonder where all the time went. Pull yourself away from the television, and go do something. Maybe go outside. "

In other news, I know people like to bash the Cubs asking when was the last time they won a World Series? Okay, it's been a 100 years. Well, pretty soon it'll be a 100 years since the Sox were famous outside a five block radius of Comiskey. That was when they got busted for gambling and lost half their roster. They should try that again. Not great for the team but at least it got people to know they existed. "

And the Cards drool because it's hard work being so good! Ha! We'll see you in July! The holiday weekend will have lots of Red, White, (celebrating Cards fans) and Blue (disappointed Cubs fans) with plenty of St Louis Fireworks to celebrate the Cardinals win! "

You should agree with me on that but I can tell by your comments you are too immature to agree with anyone and me even explaining this to you is like trying to talk to a brick wall. : )

Shadow - that goes for you too. : )

Southside pride - you are really cool. (eyes are rolling). Wrigley Field is a national icon whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Their are dumb sports fans everywhere, not just Chicago so stop arguing over who has the worst fans or who has the better team, there will be no winners in this argument. All that matters is what is happening now. The White Sux, I mean Sox are horrible, The Cubs are doing pretty well and The Cards are killing it. Want to argue with that? "
