Local gymnasts capture national titles

Peyton Taylor, of Rising Stars Academy in Bloomington, won her fifth straight tumbling national championship in the advanced girls division at the United States Trampoline and Tumbling Association National Championships held June 22 at Cincinnati.

Taylor also won the elite girls national championship for the third time in four years.

USTA Athlete of the Year Annie Nord, also of Rising Stars Academy, and teammate Sarah Maynard of Kewanee won the advanced girls synchronized trampoline event.

Joe Green of Gymnastics Etc. in Bloomington was the national champion on the advanced boys trampoline. Green and Tyler Waller won the synchronized trampoline in the advanced boys division.

Gymnastics Etc. took team national championship honors in the elite girls trampoline division.

Other national champions from the Rising Stars Academy were Brock Gottschalk in the novice boys tumbling division and the intermediate boys trampoline, Chase Ramsey in the sub-advanced double-mini trampoline, Tyler Henson in the novice boys trampoline and John Hanton in the sub-advanced boys trampoline.
