LINCOLN -- A flash flood warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m. Saturday for southern Logan County and parts of two other counties in Central Illinois, the National Weather Service reported.

Some parts of the warning area, which also included northeastern Sangamon and eastern Menard counties, saw between 2 and 4 inches of rain Friday night and earlier Saturday, NWS reported. New rainfall amounts will likely range from 1 to 2 inches by 5 p.m. Saturday, NWS reported.

Communities that could experience some flooding include Lincoln, Beason, Chestnut, Middletown and Mount Pulaski, among others.

NWS warned drivers to not pass through any flooded roadways and for observers to report any flash flooding to local law enforcement agencies.
