Lexington prevails over Ridgeview 47-26

LEXINGTON -- Junior running back T.J. Stinde ran for 321 yards and four touchdowns and junior quarterback Mike Emberton ran for three scores and threw for another as Lexington opened its season by rolling past Ridgeview in a Heart of Illinois Conference game at Lexington.

Lexington jumped to a 21-7 first-quarter lead on a 79-yard run by Stinde, a 85-yard kick return for touchdown by Stinde and a 20-yard run by Emberton. Stinde later added a 32-yard scoring run and a 66-yard TD reception from Emberton.

Emberton, who finished with 52 yards rushing and 107 passing, also had scoring runs of nine and one yards in the second half.

Matt Johnson scored twice for Ridgeview on runs of three and one yards. Mustang quarterback Derek Powell completed 12 of 26 passes for 159 yards, including touchdowns of 22 yards to Jordan Ayers and seven yards to Brian Klein in the second half.
