Road updates as of Aug. 29:

Bloomington-Normal

-- Township Road 3700 East from Comanche Drive to 1100 North Road, Cheney’s Grove Township, will be closed to through traffic until Sept. 9 for railroad track re-grading.

-- Eastbound traffic on Eastland Drive between Prospect and Hershey roads will be shifted to the center lane while crews make inlet and storm sewer repairs. The lane closure will remain in effect until Sept. 3.

-- U.S. 51, from Lafayette Street to Woodrig Road in Bloomington, will be resurfaced beginning Aug. 25. The work should end by the end of November.

-- Allin Street, between Locust and Market streets, will be under construction through late September for road surfacing, curb and gutter and some sidewalks.

-- Seminary Avenue is getting new curbs and gutters from Cottage to Western avenues in Bloomington. Expect lane restrictions and some delays during construction. After the new curb and gutter is completed this section of Semi-nary will be overlaid with asphalt.

-- Mitsubishi Motorway from Six Points Road to Sugar Creek is under construction. Periodic lane closures and delays on Six Points Road can be expected through the summer. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2008.

-- Morris Avenue is closed until fall 2008 to all traffic from the north Park Hill Cemetery entrance to Fox Hill Apartments. Access to Fox Hill Apartments, other residents and businesses south of Goose Creek will be from the south only. Access to Grosso’s Garage will be from Butcher’s Lane only. Morris Avenue remains closed to through traffic from Miller Street to Six Points Road. Intermittent daytime closures of Butchers Lane also will occur.

-- Hershey Road, north of Shepard, and Raab Road from the west entrance to Eagle’s Landing west to Hershey Road, will be closed until further notice.

-- Various streets in uptown Normal are affected by the Marriott hotel project.

-- Beaufort between Fell Avenue and Constitution Trail is closed through early 2009. Beaufort between Fell and Broadway is closed through late 2008.

-- The intersection of Beaufort and Broadway is closed through approximately early 2009. Access to the drive that runs behind Wright’s Printing, Jimmy John’s, etc. is anticipated to remain open.

-- Constitution Trail between Mulberry Street in Normal and the railroad tracks is closed through late 2008.

-- Broadway between Phoenix Avenue and North Street will be closed to through traffic until further notice (likely spring 2009) for Marriott and infrastructure improvements.

Central Illinois

-- Southbound lanes will be closed periodically on Interstate 55 in Logan County for concrete pavement patching. The work zone will be from the McLean County line south about 9 miles. Work should be completed this summer.

-- Carlock weigh station being rehabilitated on Interstate 74.

-- The spillway bridge on Illinois 10 over Clinton Lake is closed for replacement, probably through the end of the summer.
