60-year-old Central Illinois man killed in rollover crash

PIPER CITY -- A 60-year-old Piper City man was dead early Thursday morning at the scene of a one-car, rollover crash between Gilman and Piper City, state police at Ashkum said.

Gregory C. Regnier was headed west on Ford County Road 110 East when he drove onto the right shoulder, lost control and went into the left ditch at U.S. 24, police said. The crash was reported at 2:10 a.m. Thursday.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown into the rear seat of the car.

" Irrelevant?? How in the world can you say irrelevant? Seat belts save lives! It's the law. Maybe by putting this in the story it might keep some one else from the same tragic mistake this man made. "

" I bet if he was wearing a helmet they would have mentioned that too!!! Regardless of whether he was wearing his seatbelt or not we don't know if this was the actual cause of death.....I just love it when they mention irrelevent information such as that! "
