Intercity Cross Country Meet preview

A brief preview of the Intercity Cross Country Meet starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Maxwell Park, Normal, Illinois.

The University High boys, ranked seventh in the state in Class 2A, and the Normal Community girls are favored to defend their titles.

Individually for the boys, Normal West sophomore Drew Kerschieter, U High sophomore James Clay and Central Catholic senior John Curran are top contenders.

For the girls, NCHS junior Marie O’Leary posted a 3-mile season best of 18 minutes, 20 seconds at Maxwell Park where she topped Class A state 3,200-meter champion Kelly Curran of 1A’s No. 3-ranked Central Catholic by a minute Sept. 6.
