CHATSWORTH -- Two people were injured in a knife fight Wednesday night in Chatsworth and five people face criminal charges, officials said Thursday.

Four people arrested in the incident were charged with felonies. They are: Kraig Reinitz, 26; David L. Bronson, 19; Daniel L. Mason, 17; and Christopher C. McBride, 20. McBride is from Piper City and the others are from Chatsworth.

The man listed as the victim, Steven Sanchez, was treated at OSF Saint James–John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, and released.

A sixth man listed as a suspect, Christopher Folk of Chatsworth, was taken to the same hospital with a knife wound. He later was transferred to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, where he was listed in fair condition, a nursing supervisor said.

No charges have been filed against Folk.

Livingston County sheriff’s police were called about 9 p.m. to a residence on the 400 block of East Oak Street in Chatsworth, First Assistant State’s Attorney Carey Luckman said.

Sanchez apparently was attacked on the porch and later dragged into the street by a few of the suspects, where they continued to assault him, authorities said. Sanchez used a knife to defend himself, and the suspects eventually left, Luckman said.

Reinitz, Bronson and McBride were charged with two counts each of mob action. Mason was charged with one count of obstructing justice.

All four were jailed in lieu of posting the following amounts: $5,000 for Reinitz, $7,500 for McBride, $10,000 for Bronson and $2,000 for Mason.

Folk and another suspect did not appear in court Thursday afternoon.
