PONTIAC - The sales and parts departments at Heller Lincoln-Mercury-Dodge were back in full swing Monday after a weekend fire. The service department, where the fire originated, is expected to partially reopen Wednesday. | Video

"The insurance people were here this (Monday) morning and I have no idea when I will hear," said co-owner Marty Heller.

The fire was reported late Friday night after a patrolling deputy saw smoke coming from the vents. Early speculation centered on a vehicle brought into the service area. No injuries were reported.

Heller praised local contractors who helped to get things back on track quickly. "They went above and beyond," Heller said of contractors and employees who pitched in.

The sales and parts departments opened partially on Saturday.

Heller said the service area encompasses about 15,000 square feet of the 21,000-square-foot dealership. Heller and his brother, Dan, also are partners at Heller Ford in El Paso and Heller Chevrolet in Chenoa.

Fire departments from Pontiac, Bloomington, Dwight, Long Point, Saunemin, Cullom and Chenoa were called to the scene.
