BLOOMINGTON — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded the McLean County Chamber of Commerce with a five-star accreditation.
The local chamber is one of three in Illinois to receive the honor, and one of 111 across nationwide.
The award recognizes quality programs, clear organizational procedures, and effective communication in governance, program development, government affairs, and technology.
“This is a milestone achievement for our organization,” said Charlie Moore, Chamber president and CEO. “More importantly, it’s an indicator to our members and the community that their chamber is focused on excellence, and this designation substantiates it. ... We’ve worked hard to earn this designation, and know our recognition and success is only reflective of who we represent.”
Added Chamber Chairman Andy Shirk, president of Beer Nuts: “Given the organization’s continuous improvement mentality and expectation, a five-star accreditation is only appropriate.”
The Chamber is located at 2203 E. Empire St., Bloomington. Visit www.mcleancochamber.org or call 309-829-6344.
