BLOOMINGTON — Rural Corn Belt Energy customers may be without power Thursday while crews upgrade parts of the system.
The feed to five substations will be cut for about 12 hours starting at midnight Thursday.
Around 1,964 area customers will be affected, officials said in an announcement Monday.
The outages may affect customers in Armington, Atlanta, Deer Creek, Delavan, Emden, Hartsburg, Hopedale, Lincoln, Mackinaw, McLean, Minier, Morton, Pekin, Stanford and Tremont.
“As part of this effort, we ask members to not run any grain dryers and curtail electricity usage as much as possible from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday,” officials said in the release.
After the upgrades are completed, Corn Belt said, there will be a "more robust transmission feed and thus improve reliability for our members.”
Customers affected will be notified via telephone.
If customers have any questions, they can call 800-879-0339.
