Variety of acts set to entertain Central Illinois
CAPTION: Cirque du Soleil's latest touring extravaganza designed for indoor venues is "Saltimbanco," coming to the Peoria Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18.
Now that summer's winding down, don't think the heat is off. In fact, things are just starting to warm up on the fall entertainment front.
Sizzle, in fact.
The blaze starts in September, as everything from the second edition of the University of Illinois' amazing Wall-to-Wall Guitar Festival to the second eclectic season of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts kicks in.
We count virtually a touring concert event per week in B-N alone (and we're not even including the countless recitals and concerts by our own homegrown talents).
What's more, the season is still evolving, with doubtless more announcements coming our way in the weeks ahead.
To help you get your bearings, we present the following overview of the big music, comedy and variety events coming to Pantagraphland beginning next weekend and continuing through year's end.
Meanwhile, for a look at the big theater and dance options coming our way this fall, head to page D4.
