NORMAL - Several special events have been scheduled in connection with Harold Gregor's "Radiant Plains" exhibit in Illinois State University's University Galleries.
- A reception will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the galleries, with the artist in attendance and discussing his work. Admission is free.
- Though the exhibit isn't a part of the quad-bound Sugar Creek Arts Festival, per se, festival-goers are asked to step inside to view the work of the dean of Twin Cities painters. Note: the galleries are closed Sugar Creek's second day, Sunday. (See D-2 for a complete look at this year's festival.)
- A combination closing reception and birthday fete will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 10, the day that Gregor turns 80. He'll be in attendance, ready to party. Admission is free.
