Baby, it's Cole inside: A reminder that tickets for the previously announced March 17 Cole Swindell concert in Bloomington's Grossinger Motors Arena go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via the arena box office and Ticketmaster. They're priced from $29.75-$49.75; also on the bill are openers Chris Janson and Lauren Alaina. "The Reason to Drink Tour" is billed as Swindell's first headlining tour following his career launch in 2014. The arena show marks Swindell's debut Twin City performance following several passes through other Central Illinois venues, including, most recently, headlining a Tailgate N' Tallboys concert Sept. 30 on the Peoria riverfront.

Matthew + Edward: Also going on sale, this one at 10 a.m. Thursday, is a concert added to the spring slate of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Headlining the 7:30 p.m. April 28 show are two performers who are no strangers hereabouts: blues singer-guitarist Matthew Curry, with rock singer-songwriter Edward David Anderson as the opener. Tickets, priced at $20 and $25, go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 via the BCPA box office.

Ron-way turn: If you missed Ron White at his Peoria Civic Center show this fall, the hedonism-loving Blue Collar Comedy alum is headed back to Central Illinois this winter for seconds, and thirds. The new dates are an 8 p.m. Feb. 22 show in U the U of I at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium, with tickets $39 to $95, and going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday; and an 8 p.m. March 1 show in Champaign's Virginia Theater, where tickets are $45 and $55, and now on sale via the Virginia box office, with VIP packages also available.

Tall story: Summer may seem like the distant future at this point. But it's never too early to start planning your great fair-weather escapes. One option is close at hand, via the downtown Peoria riverfront, where the 2018 edition of Tailgate N' Tallboys Festival is in the works. Three dates have already been nailed down: for June 16, featuring Old Dominion and Jon Pardi; July 20, featuring Sawyer Brown and The Charlie Daniels Band; and Sept. 15, with Cody Jinks. More acts and dates will be added in the weeks ahead.
