Hart to heartland: Comedian Kevin Hart, who's currently headed back to the big screen in the remake of "Jumanji" opening over the holidays, will be taking Springfield by winter storm this February in his first Central Illinois date since selling out a stand in Peoria four years ago. This time he'll be at the BOS Center (formerly Prairie Capital Convention Center) at 7 p.m. Feb. 11. Tickets, now on sale via the BOS box office, are $61-$127.50, with plenty of VIP perks available well beyond that range.
Joining the Priesthood: Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for heavy metal legends Judas Priest, making a rare B-N appearance April 8 in the Grossinger Motors Arena. Also on the bill are opening acts Saxon and Black Star Riders. Prices from $43-$58. The band's last time through town was a long, long time ago: May 1979, in ISU's Union (now Braden) Auditorium.
Snowballing: The Peoria Civic Center is hosting the 4th Annual CT Snow Ball Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 in the PCC Ballroom. The toy fundraiser for Children's Hospital of Illinois will feature Aussie singer-songwriter Vance Joy, Nashville alt-rockers Moon Taxi and pop-rock singer JD McPherson. Tickets are $35-$60 via the PCC box office.
Globetrotting: A third Central Illinois date has been added to the annual winter full-court press of The Harlem Globetrotters. Previously announced were two December dates: Dec. 8 at the BOS Center in Springfield and Dec. 10 at the Peoria Civic Center. For those who are busy that pre-holiday week, the Globetrotters will be back a month later: at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in the U of I State Farm Center in Champaign, with tickets now on sale.
