"Weird Al" Yankovic

Weirder than springtime: For some post-winter yucks next spring, mark your calendars for a March 30 concert in Champaign's historic Virginia Theater featuring that tireless rock-pop parodist who’s outlasted and even outlived many of the acts he’s parodied, 'Weird Al' Yankovic. The performance is part of His Weirdness's new "Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour," which kicks off in February, with special guest, comedian Emo Phillips, in tow. Ticket information and other details are still to be announced.

Rodent redux: Fill the martini pitcher(s) … Frank, Dean, Sammy and Joey are back in Central Illinois, courtesy the tribute show, The Rat Pack Is Back, coming to the Peoria Civic Center Theater at 7 p.m. Jan. 28. The tribute  show relives the days of the Pack's reign as Vegas' entertainment royalty, via their legendary tandem stands in the Sands Hotel Copa Room. Tickets, starting at $32, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via the PCC box office. 

Plugging in for the holidays: The annual Toys for Tots Silver Ball Christmas concert returns to Bloomington's Castle Theatre at 7 p.m. Dec. 9, with a British Invasion theme this year. Providing the musical proof: The Steepwater Band and Jack Dupp & The Empty Bottles. Tickets are $12 advance and $15 the day of ...  The annual holiday hard rock bash at Peoria's Limelight Eventplex, Nutcracker, returns for its 2017 stand at 7 p.m. Dec. 7. On the bill this year are Red Sun Rising, Greta Van Fleet, Through Fire and Deadset Society. Tickets start at $20 and top out in the VIP range at $100. Call 309-693-1234.
