BLOOMINGTON — Heavy metal legends Judas Priest are bringing their "Firepower 2018 Tour" to Bloomington's Grossinger Motors Arena this spring.
The British band, now in the 48th year of its career, will headline a show at 7 p.m. April 8, preceded on stage by opening acts Saxon and Black Star Riders.
Tickets are priced from $43-$58, and go sale at 10 a.m. Friday via the arena box office.
A special fan pre-sale will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with details available at www.grossingermotorsarena.com.
For Twin City fans, it's the first Judas Priest concert in town in nearly 40 years. The band's last time through was a May 1979 concert in Illinois State University's Union (now Braden) Auditorium.
The new tour, which kicks off March 13 in Pennsylvania, is in support of Judas Priest's new album, "Firepower," due in early 2018.
The current lineup features original members Rob Halford on lead vocals, Glenn Tipton on guitar and keyboard, and Ian Hill on bass.
Rounding out the lineup are drummer Scott Travis, who joined the band in 1989, and newest member, guitarist Richie Faulkner, who joined in 2011.
Earlier this year, Judas Priest was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
