FORD COUNTY – The Ford County Republicans have several events planned for 2016.
Regular meetings of the group are scheduled for Feb. 13, April 9, June 11, Aug. 13, Oct. 8 and Dec. 10. The committee needs volunteers to set up and lead the April, June, August, October and December meetings.
A meet the candidates event will be held in February. There are contested races for state's attorney and circuit clerk. There are also several county board members and precinct committeemen and committeewomen running.
The annual Lincoln Day dinner will be March 8. Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and John Shimkus will be the guest speakers.
Tickets are $35 per person and sponsorships are available.

A county convention and reorganization meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the county courthouse in Paxton. All precinct committeemen and committeewomen should attend. The group will elect officers and schedule meetings.
The Ford County Republicans will also participate in the Ford County Fair, June 19 through 25; the Sibley Fourth of July parade, July 4; Labor Day weekend at IGA in Paxton, 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3; Swine and Dine in Paxton in September; and parades in Gibson City and Paxton in November.
