PONTIAC — Donald D. Heavilin, 71, of Pontiac, formerly of Sibley, died at 1:03 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service was Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac. The Rev. Shawn Jensen officiated. Visitation was held for two hours Wednesday, before the service at the funeral home.

Donald was born Aug. 3, 1944, in Bloomington, a son of George and Jessie McRae Heavilin. He married Katy Tongate on Aug. 3, 1965, in Gibson City.
Survivors include one son, Darrin (Patti) Heavilin, Sibley; two daughters, Tina (Steve) Mueller, Pontiac, and Sandy (Scott) Campbell, Linden, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Dusty and Dalton Heavilin; Brooke (Zac) Marquis; Britney (Jake) Steidinger; Brett, Jordan, Brianna and Brandi Mueller; and Troy, Adam and Faith Campbell; 10 brothers, Delmar (Sharon) Heavilin, Gibson City; Larry (Florence) Heavilin, LeRoy; Raymon (Susan) Heavilin, Santee, Calif.; Kenneth (Ellen) Heavilin, LeRoy; Steven (Martha) Heavilin, Saybrook; Thomas (Sharon) Heavilin, Gibson City; David (Trudy) Heavilin, Strawn; Ralph Heavilin, Saybrook; Roger (Teresa) Heavilin, Saybrook; and Jerry Heavilin, Sibley; and two sisters, Dorothy Lilienthal, Carlock, and Beverly (Allen) Baker, Melvin.
Donald was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.
Don was educated at Saybrook-Arrowsmith High School and was in custodial work all his life. He was a member of the Kulture Church in Pontiac. Don loved his family very much and spending time outdoors. He leaves us a great example of a simple, contented life.
