GIBSON CITY — Robert “Bob” Boyce, 88, of Gibson City, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
His visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. His memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City with the Rev. Thomas Theneth officiating.
Bob was born March 27, 1927, in Chicago, a son of George and Ella Brennen Boyce. He married Juanita Jordan on June 4, 1955, in Gibson City. She died March 9, 2013.
Surviving are two sons, Doug Boyce, Grayslake, and Dan (Joy) Boyce, Loda; a daughter, Karen (Phil) Fanale, Charleston; four grandchildren, Jake and Zach Boyce, Stephanie (Tim) Aberle and Natalie Fanale.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin, and a brother, John.
Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a police officer in Gibson City, Ford County coroner and worked at the First National Bank in Gibson City. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bob Boyce Annex Nursing Scholarship Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
