NORMAL — A vice president at Focus on the Family and a syndicated columnist who writes about parenting will be speakers at a free forum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday sponsored by the Wittenberg Lutheran Center in Normal.
The forum will be in Lecture Hall 130 of Schroeder Hall at Illinois State University. Parking will be available in nearby red and green campus lots.
Tim Goeglein, vice president for external relations at Focus on the Family, will speak on “Faith in the Halls of Power” at 10 a.m.
Goeglein is the author of “The Man in the Middle: Faith and Politics in the George W. Bush Era.” He served as deputy director of the White House Office of Public Liaison from 2001 to 2008.
He also serves on the Sanctity of Life Commission for the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.
John Rosemond, whose syndicated column runs in about 225 newspapers, will speak at 1 p.m. on “50 Years of Parenting Babble with No End in Sight.”
Rosemond has worked in the field of family psychology since 1971. He also has directed several mental health programs for children. Currently, he devotes his time to speaking and writing and has written several best-selling parenting books in addition to his column.
Both speakers will answer questions after their talks. A free pizza lunch will be provided.
