BLOOMINGTON — Ruth B. Ringenberg of Bloomington will celebrate her 90th birthday with a drop-in reception from 1 to 3 p.m. May 5 at Bible Baptist Church, 804 Four Seasons Road, Bloomington.
She was born May 14, 1928, in rural Pella, Iowa. Ruth was married to her first husband, Marvin DePenning, for 39 years until his death in 1987. She married Vernon Ringenberg on May 6, 1995. Her siblings are Dorothy Van Der Pol and Eugene (Luanna) Van Gorp, both of Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Her children are Steven DePenning, Belleaire Bluffs, Fla.; Dwight (Sheila) DePenning, Owatonna, Minn.; and Mark (Frieda) DePenning, Greer, S.C.; and stepchildren, Dan (Jerrine) Ringenberg, Reeseville, Wis.; Paul (Donna) Ringenberg, Greenville, S.C.; and Patricia Yohn, deceased. She has seven grandchildren, 17 stepgrandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 29 stepgreat-grandchildren, and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She is a homemaker and former pastor's wife. She enjoys entertaining, visiting sick and shut-ins, reading, piano, guitar and singing. She is a member of Bible Baptist Church, Bloomington, and volunteer at Ministry and More food shelf, Bloomington.
