Marlar claims feature win

Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., grabbed the lead with 21 laps remaining and held off Shannon Babb of Moweaqua down the stretch to win the UMP Summernationals late model feature Saturday night at Fairbury American Legion Speedway.

The win was worth $10,000 to Marlar and moved him into third place in the overall Summernationals points standings.

Following Marlar to the finish line were Babb, Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., and series points leader Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville.

Other feature winners were Gary Cook Jr. of Deer Creek (modifieds) and Dave Rudisill of Watseka (sportsman).
