LINCOLN - A Lincoln Junior High School student has been charged with writing a bomb threat in a school bathroom Tuesday that prompted officials to evacuate the building.

Logan County Assistant State's Attorney Dan Marquardt said Friday he has charged the student as a juvenile with one count of criminal defacement and one count of disorderly conduct.

No hearing date has been scheduled, but Marquardt expects one within the next two weeks.

Lincoln Elementary School District 27 Superintendent Kirby Rogers said the student has been suspended while any further action is pending. Rogers declined to release information that would identify the student.

Rogers said the sixth-graders were relocated to Central School a block and a half away, while the seventh- and eighth-graders went to St. John's Church, two blocks away. Parents and guardians were able to pick up their children starting at 1:30 p.m.

Rogers said that thanks to a new safety plan that had been put into effect recently, the relocation efforts ran smoothly and school was back in session Wednesday.
