Deadline scheduled for Foundation grants
BLOOMINGTON - The deadline is Feb. 16 to submit letters of intent for Illinois Prairie Community Foundation 2009 grants. The Foundation will award $18,000 in grants to area non-profit organizations.
Grants may be awarded in the fields of human services, education, environment, economic development, arts and culture, and health. Winners will be announced in late May.
Spring weight limit dates announced
BLOOMINGTON - The spring weight limit for McLean County and township roads begins today and ends April 15, depending on road conditions.
Oil and chip roads are posted for 8-ton gross weight limit. The county's hot mix roads are posted for 10-ton gross weight limit.
Written permits may be issued depending upon road conditions, necessity, and size of loads. The McLean County Sheriff's Department will patrol for weight limit violators.
SETTING IT RIGHT
Uptown Normal - Figures for infrastructure work in the Normal uptown redevelopment project were incorrect in Wednesday's paper, because of incorrect information earlier provided to The Pantagraph. The town is spending $9 million on roads and $7.5 million on water and sewer lines.
