CHATSWORTH - Fire displaced a family from their two-story farmhouse about three miles south of Chatsworth Thursday afternoon.

A mother and two daughters lived at the house, said Chatworth Fire Chief Jerry Ashman. They were staying with friends.

The fire began in a second-floor closet of a bedroom, damaging that bedroom and another bedroom. There was smoke and water damage throughout the house.

The Cause of the blaze at 5137 North 3200 East Road remains under investigation. The family declined comment.

Piles of possessions, including mattresses, were seen outside of the house.
