Woodford Co. Veterans Day celebration moved next door due to weather

EUREKA - The Woodford County celebration outside the courthouse in Eureka was moved next door because of weather.

Still numerous veterans and community members came out for the celebration.

Veterans say they hope the younger generations continue to learn and embrace the history surrounding Veterans Day.

Woodford County Sheriff James Pierceall said: "It's just important. That's what Veterans Day was designated for: to honor the servicemen and women."

Jim Cinnamon is a, Air Force veteran who served from 1961 to 1965.

"They have got to realize what the veterans had to do so they can have their freedom now," he said.

State Sen. Dan Rutherford, R-Chenoa, spoke to the veterans and community members about the importance of their service and how they helped make the armed forces what they are today.
