BLOOMINGTON - World AIDS Day is being marked with two events on Monday.

McLean County AIDS Task Force, which serves people with AIDS and HIV in McLean and Livingston counties, is sponsoring free, rapid HIV tests from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the task force, 313 N. Main St., Bloomington. The test involves no needles and results are ready in 20 minutes, according to the task force.

For an appointment, call the task force office at (309) 827-2437.

In addition, Minier native and Illinois State University graduate Dennis Neal Vaughn will premiere his documentary short film, "Electric City - Far From Normal," at 7 p.m. Monday at the Normal Theater, 209 W. North St., Normal. Admission is free.

Neal's autobiographical short film tells his story growing up in Central Illinois, then beginning a new life in San Francisco and coming to terms with his AIDS diagnosis. Following the film, there will be a panel discussion, then a candlelight vigil from the Normal Theater to the ISU quadrangle, followed by a filmmaker reception at the Campus Religious Center, 210 W. Mulberry St., Normal.

Both Noodles and Company locations - 609 S. Main St., Normal, and 305 N. Veterans Parkway, Bloomington - will be donating to the task force 10 percent of all sales from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
