WAPELLA - A Saturday night accident near Wapella claimed the life of a Farmer City man.

Howard Ruble, 38, was fatally injured about 8:03 p.m. when his 2004 Dodge Ram failed to negotiate a curve on Illinois Route 9 as it approaches U.S. 51.

A DeWitt County Sheriff's report indicated the truck left the road, struck and broke a power pole and rolled over.

Ruble was partially ejected from the truck. He was taken to Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

The Wapella Fire Department also was called to the scene of the accident.
