BLOOMINGTON - For some Washington Elementary School students, history lessons can come from the silver screen.
Seventy-five third-graders are learning about historical figures - like Teddy Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart - through a program based on the 2006 movie "Night at the Museum."
The students also took online virtual tours of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., offered through the facility's Web site.
"They got more involved than I expected," said teacher Jamie Wolfe.
The Smithsonian is the setting of a new film, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Wolfe plans to take her students to the theater on Friday morning to see the sequel.
