Burglaries - Police are investigating two burglaries in the Pontiac area.

On Aug. 17, police responded to Pontiac Courtesy Cleaner's, 420 N. Ladd St., after a newspaper carrier saw the glass door was broken, Pontiac Police Administrative Commander Jim Woolford said. Authorities think a brick may have been used to enter. About $145 was missing from the cash register, Woolford said.

On Sunday, police responded to Sears, 701 S. Newport Road, after an alarm was activated near the loading dock area, Woolford said. Officers found an unlocked door and two large, flat-screen televisions leaning against wooden pallets. The TVs were valued at $4,000.

Home invasion - An unlocked door led to a home invasion where the resident was punched before a man fled with a wallet, a Normal police report said.

The incident shortly before 10 p.m. Friday was in the 400 block of North Fell Avenue, police said.

An apartment resident was in his bathroom when he heard noises and found a man in his bedroom, police said. The man grabbed and punched the apartment resident and fled with a wallet and an orange T-shirt, police said.

Burglary - A game system and related items, and an iPod were stolen Friday from an apartment in the 700 block of North Adelaide Street, a Normal police report said.

Burglary - A game system, television, iPod, iPod speakers, digital camera, two cell phones and were stolen Thursday from an apartment in the 1500 block of Ensign Drive while its occupants were gone 30 minutes, a Normal police report said.

IN court

Retail theft - A Bloomington man was sentenced to 30 months of probation and fined $200 for a subsequent offense of retail theft.

Keith D. Sanders, 18, of the 1600 block of West Illinois Street, was convicted of taking snack items from the Holiday Inn in June.

Marijuana - A Wheeling man was placed on 24 months of probation for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver the drug.

Jeffrey S. Kahan, 21, was accused of possessing the drugs in May. He also was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service.

Aggravated battery - Charges of aggravated battery were dismissed against a 48-year-old Bloomington man.

Stanley Hooks, of the 1000 block of North Evans Street, was charged with battery of a person over 60 years old. Charges were dropped by prosecutors and Hooks agreed to have no contact with the victim.

Marijuana - A man from Normal pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of marijuana and was sentenced to 24 months of probation.

Yoshio De Coronado-Gonzalez, 20, of the 1700 block of Hovey Avenue, also must pay a $400 street value fine and complete 30 hours of community service and recommended drug treatment.
