PONTIAC - A Dwight teenager who was put on nearly three years probation for leaving a bomb threat in Dwight Township High School is doing well in specialized classes and may return to high school in the fall, officials said Tuesday.

The 16-year-old and his family appeared before Livingston County Associate Judge Jennifer Bauknecht on Tuesday for an update on his probation.

The teen pleaded guilty in October to falsely making a terrorist threat, a Class 1 felony, and disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 33 months probation in December.

The Pantagraph does not publish the names of people who are prosecuted as juveniles.

More than 330 students and faculty were evacuated from Dwight Township High School on Sept. 5, 2007, after a bomb threat was found on a graphing calculator. An investigation found no bomb.

Senior Probation Officer Mark Salata put in the recommendation for the teen to return to Dwight Township High School, as he was doing very well in the Safe Schools Program. Bauknecht said that was good news and said that she expected it from him.

"Keep up the good work," Bauknecht said.
