DWIGHT - A crash early Saturday near Dwight sent three people to the hospital.

Driver David Perez, 20, of Elgin and passengers Jaime Calderon and Beatriz Olvera, both 19 of Elgin, were taken to Morris Hospital, an Illinois State Police report said. A hospital official would not release their conditions or say whether they had been released.

The accident occurred about 6:40 a.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate 55 just north of the Dwight exit.

The report said Perez was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer while pulling a 1990 Honda CRX via a tow dolly. When Perez lost control, the towed vehicle began to sway and became separated.

The Ford left the road and overturned in the median. The Honda also went into the median but did not overturn, the report said.

No tickets were issued.
