PEORIA - A Bloomington man who worked as a substitute teacher in Twin Cities schools was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison Friday for producing sexually explicit photographs of young boys.

James C. Love, 38, pleaded guilty in September to photographing several minors while they were sleeping at his home in May 2007. He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Peoria.

Charges of aggravated battery and aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving the boys were dropped by McLean County authorities as part of the agreement with federal prosecutors. He also agreed to cooperate with investigators in identifying persons in photos taken with the same digital camera involved in the child pornography case.

Police found the pornography during a search of Love's home computer and digital storage equipment.

Love has been in custody since federal indictments were returned in October 2007. He must serve 85 percent of the federal sentence and will remain on supervised released for life.
